I’ve had a lot of downtime at the airport and hotel on our Christmas trip and spent much of it looking at the movie-review social network Letterboxd. (Of all of the networks that did the “drop the ‘e’ for SEO purposes” thing, this is the worst. Call the fucking site Letterboxed. Please. It’s almost 2024, guys. Give us back our “e,” OK?) I quite like the service, but as a social network it’s a) made up of humans who are b) trying to stand out from the crowd like a goth at the homecoming pep rally. Plakat za ovogodišnji FEST je jadno grozan.

Naletim sinoć na forumski topik o desetak filmova koji su u najavama puno obećavali ali do čijeg prikazivanja se odustalo iz raznih razloga, Tu saznam da se izvjesni Hamlet Dulijan, mladi režiser koji je do sad režirao par kratkih filmova i serija, dohvatio ekranizacije Zamjatina, mladac se odlučio da režira Mi. Film je snimljen, premijera je bila zakazana za decembar '22. ali nikad nije prikazan. Zvaničnog objašnjenja nema, vrti se par priča po internetima, da je publika sa negodovanjem reagovala na trejler, da je režiser bio primoran na autocenzuru ali da ni to nije bilo dovoljno da film bude prikazan, da su producenti na kraju osustali od distribucije plašeći se negativne rekacije publike vlasti itd. Paranoik u meni vjeruje da je ovo zadnje pravi razlog, ovaj vakat nije pogodan da se u Rusiji takav film prikazuje. Šteta, u svakom slučaju.
