Pуски предсједник Владимир Путин рекао је да споразум, чији је потписник и Москва, треба да отвори пут за трајно политичко рјешење сукоба у којима су убијене хиљаде људи, расељене десетине хиљада и који је пријетио да изазове већи рат.
Међутим Јермени, према писању Марка Галеотија са Ројал јунајтид сервисис института овог пута Русе не гледају као спасице. Галеоти пише да мада Русија има улогу миротворца, важно је нагласити да овај ангажман представља додатни терет за њену војску и финансије. Споразум јој пружа улогу у геополитици региона, али не треба заборавити да је ријеч о дијелу свијета у којем је донедавно било незамисливо да њена доминација буде доведена у питање.

Галеоти за „Москоу тајмс“ пише да споразум у Нагорно Карабаху није толико знак успјеха за Кремљ колико управљање падом, јер Русија није имала политичке и војне снаге да дјелује брже и одлучније, све и да је хтјела. Реакција Москве на обарање њеног хеликоптера на територији Јерменије на много начина демонстрира слабљење воље Москве и њених капацитета да очува своје претензије.

Галеотија та ситуација подсјећа на одговор Русије када је Турска оборила њен бомбардер у Сирији 2015. Како би казнио Турску, Кремљ је увео санкције у покушају да „замаскира слабост“. На крају предсједник Турске Реџеп Тајип Ердоган је упутио саочешће, пажљиво срочено да не буде извињење. Ипак, Кремљ је одлучио да се прави да је то извињење и санкције су укинуте, пише колумниста „Москоу тајмса“

Слично томе, овог пута руско министарство иностраних послова је изразило задовољство што је Баку одмах признао кривицу и због тога што ће бити спроведена оперативна истрага инцидента. Другим ријечима то питање је завршено, а двојица страдалих пилота неће бити освећена, пише Галеоти. То, према његовом мишљењу, није понашање самоувјереног хегемона већ управљање падом од стране Русије која је у регионалном смислу снажних капацитета, слабе воље и покушава да извуче најбоље из ситуације а притом разочарава своје савезнике.

Главна предност Азера је била у БПЛ.
На северном фронту су Азери трпели велике губитке и остварили слаб напредак. На југу, где је мање вегетације, су успели да остваре пробој масовном употребом БПЛ.

Русија има савремене системе за борбу против истих (ПВО и ометање). Било би потребно десетак летова да се то и испоручи, односно за мање од недељу дана да се створи ефикасна заштита на фронту и анулира предност Азера.
Пошто се ништа није десило током 45 дана очигледно да Русија и Јерменија нису постигли договор око тога - ако су се уопште и договарали.
На крају, пошто је Јерменија скоро направила политички заокрет, овде је направљен један спин. Требало је неко други да им помогне.
