Officials in Washington State said on Sunday afternoon that they had confirmed two more cases of the new coronavirus in King County — two men in their 60s — bringing the total in the county to six.
The men were in critical condition, the officials said.
“This number is expected to rise as more people are tested and results confirmed,” King County officials said in a statement on Sunday.
Washington State has declared a state of emergency over the coronavirus and researchers who studied two cases in the state say that the virus may have been spreading there for weeks, suggesting the possibility that up to 1,500 people in the state may have been infected.

In Washington State, researchers compared two cases in the hopes of learning more about how the coronavirus spreads. The findings suggest that it has been spreading in the state for close to six weeks, according to one of the scientists who compared the sequences, Trevor Bedford, an associate professor at the University of Washington.
If that is true, it could mean that 150 to 1,500 people “have either been infected and recovered or currently are infected now,” said Mike Famulare, a researcher at the Institute for Disease Modeling in Bellevue, Wash., who performed the analysis. Those cases, if they exist, have thus far been undetected.
Many of those people might not yet be contagious, Dr. Famulare said.
He characterized his estimate of community cases as a “best guess, with broad uncertainty.” Another method, based on census data and estimated sampling, produced similar results, he said.

Neko na Redditu je napravio sažetak izveštaja SZO o misiji u Kini. Ima dosta zanimljivih informacija, npr. samo u Vuhanu imaju 1800 timova od najmanje 5 članova koji su obilazili sve kontakte zaraženih i intervjuisali/testirali ih, u Kini sada prave 1,6 miliona kompleta za testiranje nedeljno...

a ovo sa testiranjem u SAD postaje bizarno. onog dana kad počnu masovno testiranje, imaće verovatno odjednom par hiljada slučajeva i neće uopšte biti moguće objasniti javnosti da to nije nagli porast obolelih već proširenje kriterijuma za testiranje. berza će tog dana otići u majčinu. prilično je jasno da je ovo odugovlačenje, ma koliko da je posledica neorganizovanosti i nedostatka novca, ujedno i politička odluka. ali što više čekaju, biće im gore kada budu počeli da objavljuju brojke.

New York state has confirmed its first coronavirus test, Goveror Andrew Cuomo said on Twitter Sunday evening, calling on residents to remain calm and not have any “undue anxiety.”
Cuomo said the patient is a woman in her 30s who contracted the virus while traveling abroad in Iran. He said the woman is in quarantine in her home.
