The government has instructed all state-owned websites and services to switch to the Russian domain name system by March 11, to abandon foreign hosting and site traffic counters, and to strengthen the “password policy”. This is necessary to protect resources from cyber attacks and the possibility of disconnection from the outside. The Ministry of Digital Development assured that they are preparing for different scenarios, but there are no plans to disconnect Russia from the global Internet. Experts doubt the effectiveness of the proposed measures and note that the world may well turn off Russia itself.

В России впервые оштрафовали за дискредитацию военных

Суд в Костроме 5 марта оштрафовал на 30 тыс. руб. активистку Ирину Шумилову по новой статье о дискредитации российских военных. Это первое применение данной статьи после вступления закона в силу, сообщил руководитель правозащитной группы «Агора» Павел Чиков.

В полиции сообщили, что «в областном центре 21-летняя местная жительница провела одиночный пикет, в ходе которого демонстрировала плакат, содержание которого дискредитировало использование вооруженных сил РФ».

According to various Russian state media outlets all citing Russia’s defence ministry, the corridors - which will be opened from the cities of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol and Sumy - are being set up at the personal request of French President Emmanuel Macron.


Some corridors appear to involve the evacuation of Ukrainian civilians to Russian cities and Belarus.


According to routes published by the RIA Novosti news agency, the corridor from Kyiv will lead to Belarus, and civilians who are seeking to flee Kharkiv will only have one corridor leading to Russia.

From Mariupol: route #1 - Mariupol, Novoazovsk, Taganrog, Rostov-on-Don, then by air, road or rail to selected destinations or temporary accommodation points; route #2 - Mariupol, Portovskoye, Mangush, bypassing Nikolskoye, Republic, Rozovka, Bilmak, Polohy, Orekhov, Zaporozhye.
From Kharkov: Kharkov, Nekhoteevka, Belgorod, then by air, rail and road.
From Sumy: route #1 - Sumy, Suja, Belgorod, then by any transport; route #2 - Sumy, Golubovka, Romny, Lokhvitsa, Lubny, Poltava.
According to the headquarters, all the information was communicated to the specialized structures of the UN, OSCE, ICRC and other international organizations.
