It’s too early to say what the Russian people make of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, but he’s already lost a few celebrities. Most of these guys rely heavily on the state for their living.

Ruski Nobelovac: Stidimo se, Ukrajina nije naš neprijatelj

Ruski novinar i dobitnik Nobelove nagrade za mir Dmitrij Muratov izjavio je četvrtak da je osjeća tugu i stid zbog ruske invazije na Ukrajinu, prenosi BBC.

Muratov je urednik Nove gazete, jednog od rijetkih preostalih slobodnih medija u Rusiji, javlja Hina.

Lani je dobio Nobelovu nagradu za mir za borbu za slobodu izražavanja u Rusiji.

“Osim tuge, moje kolege i ja se stidimo”, rekao je Muratov.

Iduće izdanje Nove gazete bit će dvojezično, na ruskom i ukrajinskom.

“Ukrajina nije naš neprijatelj i ukrajinski jezik nije neprijateljski jezik. I nikad to neće biti, kazao je”.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says the “demilitarization and denazification” of Ukraine are among the objectives of Russia's military action in the country, which he described as a "special operation."
“Ideally, Ukraine should be liberated, cleansed of Nazis, of pro-Nazi people and ideology,” Peskov said, though he refused to say if that meant regime change in Kyiv. (...)
Peskov also said the operation would end only when its objectives had been reached.

Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on state television just now:

“Firstly, this is not the beginning of a war. This is very important. We are trying to prevent developments that could escalate into a global war. And, secondly, this is the end of the war.”
