“I inherited the Oslo Accords,” he says. “The decision to bring the PLO from Tunis, and plant it in the heart of Judea and Samaria [West Bank], and in Gaza, was a decision made and implemented before I became prime minister. I thought it was a terrible mistake and I still do.”
Turning on the reporter, he says: “You and your journalist friends have been blaming me for almost 30 years for putting the brakes on the Oslo Accords, and preventing the Palestinian state. That’s true,” he says.
“I’m proud that I prevented the establishment of a Palestinian state because today everybody understands what that Palestine state could have been, now that we’ve seen the little Palestinian state in Gaza. Everyone understands what would have happened if we had capitulated to international pressures and enabled a state like that in Judea and Samaria, surrounding Jerusalem and on the outskirts of Tel Aviv.”

Egipat (došli smo dotle da tiranin Sisi radi ono što bi trebalo da rade zemlje sa većim demokratskim kapacitetom) ima ambiciozan i razborit plan za prekid rata koji ukljičuje inicijalnu razmenu zarobljenika koja prelazi u "svi za sve" model, i koncentracionu upravu u Gazi sastavljenu od pripadnika više palestinskih frakcija.
Sa druge strane, logično je da se Egipat najviše trudi, pošto je izraelski očigledni endgame i dalje - Gaza na Sinaju.

Na kraju će pristati na nešto, a bitno je da mu se to nešto periodično nutka jer ga svako novo odbijanje krnji, ne zbog Palestinaca (Izrael je većinski za ovakav rat) već zato što gine i IDF i zato što se još nije dogodilo da se pokret kakav je Hamas u potpunosti likvidira vojnom akcijom.

Majka jednog od trojice talaca koje su Izraelci pre desetak dana ubili iako su bili goli do pojasa i s belom zastavom poslala je poruku članovima te jedinice u kojoj između ostalog kaže "nije vaša krivica, kriv je samo Hamas", "radite najbolju stvar na svetu", "dođite da vas zagrlimo" i u svoje ime, ime svog muža i ime svoje ćerke naglašava "ne osuđujemo vas i nismo ljuti".
