Nešto kontam, prvi na udaru (izuzimajući medicinare) su prodavci svega i svačega, kasirke, apotekari, radnici na kioscima, na putarini, na pijaci (!), dakle svi oni koji su u dodiru sa velikim brojem ljudi. Vaspitači po vrtićima, učitelji i nastavnici u školama će valjda biti zaštićeni u slučaju epidemije jer to neće raditi.

Dalje, tu su dugmići u liftu, dugmići na bankomatu, novčanice po novčanicima, gelenderi, kvake, djonovi cipela na kojima se unosi razna pljuvačka sa ulice u stan.

Mislim, jeste zajebano na više nivoa. Sećam se da sam pročitao negde (još pre par nedelja) da Kina razmatra povlačenje novca u fizičkom obliku, ne znam šta su sa tim uradili.

Kako god, biće ovo igra živaca.

The European Commission has said bans or restrictions on the export of protective equipment by EU member states risk undermining collective efforts to contain the coronavirus.

This comes as other member states prepare to follow France and Germany in implementing measures to restrict the free circulation of protective equipment as the spread of the coronavirus across the continent continues.

On Thursday, US trade and manufacturing adviser Peter Navarro said such moves had left the US “alone” in tackling the outbreak.

At an extraordinary meeting of health ministers in Brussels on Friday, crisis management commissioner Janez Lenarcic said: “Solidarity among member states is crucial to tackle this common challenge in an effective way. There are legal grounds that make such measures possible, but these kinds of unilateral measures first have to be notified, they have to [be] proportionate.

“Even if they are legally possible, they carry a risk of undermining our collective approach and our collective capacity to handle this crisis.”

He said the EU was working on developing a regional response to the crisis: “We need to pool equipment that is available and we should make sure that it goes where it is needed, in particular among health personnel.”

He added that the commission was in favour of seeking solutions at EU level: “It would be unfortunate to close oneself within a national market.”

Germany has prohibited the sale of masks outside its borders, while the French authorities have seized all available masks and decreed that they can only be disbursed on a doctor’s prescription. Other countries, including the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Italy, are also considering taking similar action. 

“Legally speaking countries can do this, but we want to follow an EU-wide approach,” a commission spokesperson said.

Despite the unilateral action taken by France and Germany, health ministers insist they are able to contain the spread of the virus. 

Simon Harris, Ireland’s health minister, said it was important for the EU to act in a united fashion: “It is clearly a very worrying global health situation. It’s important to hear the EU speak with one voice when it comes to providing public health information, but also to provide guidance for mass events.”

EU countries have so far refused Italy's plea for help fighting coronavirus, as national capitals worry that they may need to stockpile face masks and other medical gear to help their own citizens, officials and diplomats said.

The refusal so far to volunteer help for Italy, which requested face masks through the EU's civil protection mechanism, highlights the urgency for Brussels as it seeks to orchestrate a coordinated response to the epidemic, and to make use of its still relatively limited powers during public health emergencies compared to the broader authority of member states.

Indeed, Rome's hopes for assistance are now pinned on the Commission's triggering of an emergency joint procurement process that allows the EU to purchase urgent medical supplies and to distribute those resources where most-needed across the Continent, even if capitals are reluctant to help each other.

The reluctance to help Italy shows just how quickly and unpredictably the actions of political leaders can shift in a crisis. On Monday, France, Germany and the U.K. announced they would send emergency medical equipment and pledged €5 million in aid to Iran which, along with Italy, has suffered the most coronavirus fatalities outside of China.

Just weeks ago, Italy was one of five EU countries, along with France, Germany, Latvia and Estonia, to send more than 30.5 tons of protective equipment to China, with the transport costs jointly financed by the EU.

Nicola Zingaretti, the leader of Italy's Democratic Party, said Saturday he had tested positive for coronavirus but was "feeling fine."

Zingaretti, who is 54, said in a Facebook video he had isolated himself at home and would continue to exercise his functions as secretary-general "as much as possible."
