16-year-old girl becomes France’s youngest coronavirus victim

The teenage girl named Julie A died in Paris, becoming the youngest French victim of the disease that more often afflicts the elderly or people with underlying health conditions.

“It’s unbearable,” the girl’s mother Sabine told AFP by phone from her home in the Parisian suburbs. “We were meant to have an ordinary life.”

A week ago, Julie developed a mild cough but on Saturday she began to feel short of breath, her mother said.

She underwent scans in hospital and several tests for COVID-19, the disease first detected in China late last year that has now killed more than 23,000 worldwide.

Her condition deteriorated and her death was announced on Thursday, with health officials emphasising that severe cases are very rare in young people.

“From the start, we were told that the virus doesn’t affect young people. We believed it, like everyone else,” Sabine said. Her daughter had no known underlying health problems.

Javno komunalno preduzeće Vodovod je, poput većine gradova u Srbiji, počelo danas sa besplatnom podelom dezinfekcionog sredstva građanima. Cisterna sa 2.500 litara natrijum-hipohlorita, koji se inače koristi za dezinfekciju vode, bila je postvaljena prepodne u Ulici Vuka Karadžića ispred zgarde Vodovoda, i odmah je izazvala veliko interesovanje, ali i odobravanje građana koji su se vrlo brzo pojavili sa svojom ambalažom u koju su natočili nekoliko litara.

Osim za dezinfekciju vode, ovo hemijsko jedinjenje je Svetska zdravstvena organizacija preporučila i za dezinfekciju ruku, radnih površina, podova, zaštitne opreme. A upravo to je potrebno građanima u ovo vreme pandemije i nestašice dezinfekcionih sredstava.

Međutim, nakon samo nekolio časova cisterna je uklonjena sa ulice po naređenju komandanta Štaba za vanredne situacije Slobodana Gvozdenovića, koji je kako nam je rečeno "naredio JKP Vodovod da odmah prekine raspodelu dezinfekcionih sredstava građanima jer prodaju i distribuciju vrše isključivo ovlašćene kuće".

Nisam ocekivao savrseno funkcionisanje, znam u kakvom stanju je sabacka bolnica ali da se ne zezamo - ova drzava nije u stanju ni da sazna gde postoji problem. Znaci, ne da se bori protiv problema vec samo da registruje gde je i koliki je taj problem.
