Nema tog tima which can make it a success.

 Marie-Anne Pollaud‏ @mapduliand

I'm not being disingenuous by stating that many EU nationals in UK have been specifically head-hunted in our own countries by UK companies.

We were *sold* the UK as a new home. Now I don't know about you but when I settle somewhere at the behest of the UK-

-I want the UK to look out for my interests and my wellbeing. And so far, in hindsight, it really hasn't.

They could've settled the issue twelve months ago, and now May is proposing this pitiful shambles of a plan that would see us revert to-

-"whatever" immigration policies the UK will implement post-FoM.

Whatever is the key word here. They don't give a damn.

✅ fluent in English
✅ not reliant on benefits
✅ hard-working
✅ tax-paying

And still they persist in treating us like disposable fodder.

And for fuck's sake you overlook so many things; the Brits that talk to you loudly and slowly as if you were a dull toddler-

The Brits who tell you that you shouldn't be using the NHS and the Brits who tell you that you are a mere guest at her Majesty's pleasure.

The Brits who want them Poles out and the Brits who want them Pakis out and the Brits who gloated in our faces on the 24th of June.

The Brits who briskly open The Express in front of you in the Tube, the Brits who glare at you as you speak Dutch to your mum on the phone.

The Brits who joke about how Romanians are thieves and Germans are Krauts and Poles are lazy and French are dirty and Portuguese are hairy.

The Brits who tell you that it's not really about you and the Brits who tell you to not take it personally.

The Brits who tell you that any numpty can replace you. The Brits that grope you and call you baby because French wimmin are easy.

The Brits who tell you to fuck off back home. The Brits who tell you you should've known better.

The Brits who scream in your face that you shouldn't feel so smug, after all, they're British and you're NOT.

These are the British in charge now. The ones who drive the policies and who amend immigration forms on a whim.

And no matter how many kind and considerate British I may have befriended over the course of 8 years total, it doesn't offset the fact that-

-the ones who call the shots are the most crass; and the crassness is reflected in words and in deeds.

The crassness is in the screeching refugees who beg not to be deported under the nonchalant gaze of tourists bound for Izmir.

The crassness is in the vans and the rhetoric and the complacency in the face of the most violently xenophobic press in Europe.

I am being blamed for wanting to escape an abusive relationship where my needs and wants are derided.

Where my needs and wants are deemed lesser, because, after all, I am but a footnote in Britain's history. "Any numpty can replace you."

It hurts because I remember when I loved someone dearly and even though they loved me back they were absolutely bloody shite at it.

The more I stay in Little England, the more I am being reminded of the day that love committed the ultimate betrayal.

Because I desperately wanted to be loved I still begged them to stay, to be nice to me, but they walked away.

Fool me once, shame on you.

But you know what? Insofar as the UK is concerned, it's fool me twice, still shame on you because are you fucking kidding me

You give it all and you get fuck all in return. What little scraps you get can hardly make up for the accumulated slights and nastiness.

I'm tired, man. I'm just tired.

And then I realise I'm an upper middle class white woman with degrees and a work ethic.

And I know that it'll be alright - but it means that I have to walk off and that I can't waste tears on this.

Whatever you decide, folks, don't look back at all. Because if you do it will be in anger and spite.

And believe me, you don't owe this country the time of day. Not even Brits born and bred owe Tory scum *anything*.

It's what you get for being abusive & thinking we'd take it without so much as a whimper.

Fuck that. Not in my name. And not with my money

Leading Brexit campaigner says 'vacuous' referendum should never been called

German-born Gisela Stuart was Labour's most prominent Eurosceptic

   Tom Batchelor
   @_tombatchelor

Leading Brexiteer Gisela Stuart has described the EU referendum an “abuse of democratic process” and said she would rather it had never been called.

The former Labour MP and co-chair of Vote Leave said voters were faced with a “vacuous” choice last June and the handling of the fallout from the poll was “not good democracy”.

She added that she stood by her support for Britain quitting the bloc, but said there was no accountability on either side of the argument once the result had been announced and the campaign groups had disbanded.

Instead, she said she wished voters had been given a say on the Lisbon Treaty.

The extraordinary admission, published in a new book entitled How To Lose A Referendum, comes as senior European leaders insisted the “door remains open” to the UK staying in the EU.

Asked if she thought David Cameron should have called the referendum, Ms Stuart responded: “No. The way he called that referendum was an abuse of democratic processes.

“It really was. I’ve never gone through a voting process where the losers demand of the winners that they explain themselves.

“This is what happened with the referendum, because you had a binary question.”

In the minority among Labour MPs as a Leave backer, Ms Stuart nonetheless established herself as a high-profile member of the campaign to pull Britain out of the EU.

She once claimed voting for Brexit was about “defending democracy” and put her name to controversial claims about extra funding for the NHS that have since been quietly dropped.

A year later, as Britain marks a year anniversary since the historic Brexit vote, Ms Stuart sounded less enthusiastic.

She said: “You had no bodies accountable for an outcome…This notion that you can create these campaigning groups that aren’t established political parties.

“Immediately after the referendum with Vote Leave, we resigned as directors and the whole thing was shut down. And that’s not good democracy.”

German-born Ms Stuart was her party’s most prominent Brexit backer and campaigned for a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty before it became law in 2009.

“At that moment, we would have had clear questions,” she said, “so it wasn’t a question of one side or the other coming at each other with threats.

“You would have had a clear body. This is the text – this is what happens now – you can have this or you can have that.

“But Cameron just threw this vacuous question into the air.”

She added: “I think it was the right decision [to leave]. But given what I was asked [Yes or No to the EU] – there was no way I could endorse this.

“Was I signing up for my membership form for UKIP? No. But essentially what he did – he kind of forced a question – to which I could not say Yes.”

By changing the answers – replacing centrism with socialism – Labour has prompted voters to ask different sorts of questions, and ended the right’s monopoly on political common sense.
